The following is a letter from National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) CEO Adam Krantz urging passage of investments in water resilience.

WASHINGTON – The following is a statement from National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) CEO Adam Krantz in response to the House passage of the Build Back Better Act.

“NACWA applauds the Biden Administration and leaders in both the House and Senate for working across party lines to pass critical infrastructure legislation that includes significant federal investments in public clean water services for state and local communities,” Krantz said.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Passage of this legislation comes after months of bipartisan negotiations between the Biden Administration and a bipartisan group of Senators.

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3684, the INVEST in America Act, which included key provisions authorizing substantial new funding for critical clean water programs.

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) applaud introduction of H.R. 3293, the Low-Income Water Customer Assistance Programs Act of 2021.

On Thursday, the U.S. Senate voted to pass S. 914, the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act (DWWIA). This bipartisan, comprehensive clean water and drinking water infrastructure legislation will authorize strong annual water infrastructure investment to help boost federal water infrastructure investment, including the first-ever reauthorization of the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) at a level totaling $14.6 billion over five years.

Sunday, April 25 marked the beginning of Water Week 2021, as thousands of representatives from across the water sector come together to advocate before Congress and the Administration on behalf of the communities they serve.
