Winter Conference

Atlanta, GA | February 4-7, 2020

With the theme of Chasing Zero: How Today’s Policies are Shaping the Future of Clean Water, NACWA’s 2020 Winter Conference will explore how public clean water agencies are on the front lines navigating a regulatory movement that is ratcheting down water quality targets, approaching zero in some cases.

The Clean Water Act has led to tremendous improvements in water quality since it was first conceived of decades ago. But, does today’s Clean Water Act provide the necessary flexibility sufficient to address the challenges presented by diffuse pollution sources and the plethora of emerging contaminants that defy conventional control strategies? NACWA’s 2020 Winter Conference, Chasing Zero: How Today’s Policies are Shaping the Future of Clean Water will explore how a new statutory and regulatory framework will need to emerge to deal with 21st century water quality issues and the critical role the public clean water community plays in ensuring the continued protection of human health and the environment.
