EPA Highlights Tools to Help Utilities Increase Resilience; Mid-Atlantic Training Scheduled
U.S. EPA’s Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative offers tools, training and technical assistance for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities to address climate change and to become more resilient to its impacts. CRWU staff have reached out to NACWA seeking opportunities to increase their program visibility.
Of potential interest for utilities in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the country is a 4-part webinar series scheduled this July-August: Climate Resilience Training in the Mid-Atlantic Region, which will focus on EPA’s Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT). Continuing education units (CEUs) may be available for certified operators who attend.
More information is available here. An Intro Session was also held June 22, which can be viewed at this this link from EPA (begin at the 10-minute mark).
NACWA will be discussing more opportunities to share these tools and trainings with our members and welcomes feedback from utilities that have previously engaged with the CRWU program and used the CREAT.
Contact Danielle Cloutier, NACWA’s Legislative Director, with questions or to discuss further.
