NACWA names new president for 2021-22
NACWA has named Kishia Powell, chief operating officer at DC Water, as the association’s newly elected president for 2021-2022.
Powell was elected to the role of president, along with the slate of NACWA’s officers for the next year, during the Board of Directors’ summer meeting on July 21. The Board, staff and entire membership said they look forward to Powell’s leadership during this pivotal time as we work to advance national water policy to help create a sustainable, resilient and equitable water future.
NACWA also extends its thanks and gratitude to Terry Leeds, director, KC Water, in Kansas City, Missouri, for his service over the past year as president.
Also on July 21, NACWA convened its Annual Association Business Meeting as a part of the Utility Leadership Virtual Event. The membership approved a slate of nominees for the Board of Directors and heard updates on NACWA’s accomplishments over the past year, as well as the Association’s finances.
