New Toolkit Available to Help Recruit a More Diverse Workforce
The Value of Water Campaign released a new toolkit this week that can help utilities in recruiting a more diverse water workforce, with a particular focus on attracting underrepresented groups such as women, younger employees and people of color.
The toolkit includes many kinds of communications templates to help utilities reach potential employees, including customizable social media ads, videos, brochures, and bus shelter advertising. The templates are available in both English and Spanish and can be downloaded and used free of charge.
These resources were developed after an intensive research effort around message testing to develop evidence-backed language and methods to reach potential new employees who might not see themselves currently reflected in the water sector. NACWA participated in this research effort and development of the toolkit, as well as helped fund it, and is pleased to help share this important new resource with its members.
More information about the toolkit is available through the Value of Water Campaign.
