NACWA Utility Leadership Virtual Event Honors Excellence in Management and Peak Performance Award Winners
NACWA’s 2021 Utility Leadership Virtual Event took place this past Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by the Annual Association Business Meeting and Awards Presentation.
This year’s event once again allowed public clean water utility executives to connect with their colleagues and share best practices for addressing today’s critical issues.
The event focused on a variety of topics, including what environmental justice means for clean water utilities, how to create transformational leadership in a time of rapid change, and what utilities can do to address growing affordability challenges. Speakers represented a wide range of experiences from the public to the private sector, including from EPA and local non-profits. Participants were also able to engage in lively online Q&A sessions.
NACWA’s outgoing President, Terry Leeds of KC Water, gave the Welcome and Opening Remarks on day one of the conference. Later, NACWA Board members Kyle Dreyfuss-Wells of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Tom Sigmund, of NEW Water, and OJ McFoy of the Buffalo Sewer Authority, among others, lent their expertise to a number of panel discussions.
To end this year’s event, NACWA honored the winners of the Excellence in Management and Peak Performance Awards. This year’s Peak Performance Awards video is online for those who missed it. NACWA thanks the many guests and speakers who made this year’s event successful!
