NACWA In-Person Meetings Cancelled Through July, Online Offerings to be Increased

Mar 20, 2020

(March 20, 2020) – Given the significant public health and travel restrictions in place as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, NACWA’s Executive Committee and executive staff made the difficult decision this week to cancel or postpone all of the Association’s in-person meetings through the end of July.

The impacted events include:

  • The National Water Policy Fly-In, co-convened by NACWA, WEF, WRF and WateReuse, April 27-28 in Washington, DC, is cancelled. Although we are no longer having an in-person meeting, NACWA and its partners are planning for a virtual Water Week, April 26th – May 2nd and you can anticipate online events and sharable Water Week collateral in the coming weeks.
  • The National Pretreatment Workshop + Training, May 14-17 in Nashville, TN, is cancelled. We will be providing online offerings soon in lieu of this event.
  • The Strategic Communications: H2O Workshop, June 1-2 in Milwaukee, WI, is cancelled. We will be providing online offerings soon in lieu of this event.
  • The 50th Anniversary Conference & Gala, July 13-16 in Seattle, WA, is being postponed until the summer of 2021. We will keep you informed of developments regarding specifics as to the rescheduling of the Conference & Gala and a suite of online offerings in lieu of this summer's event that will underscore the 50 years of success of NACWA's public agencies and the water sector as a whole.

While NACWA did not make the decision to cancel these in-person events lightly, the Association is committed to protecting the health of its members and staff during this difficult time.

We look forward to offering an even greater array on online learning and networking opportunities in lieu of our cancelled events, helping all of NACWA’s members stay connected and informed. Information on these online events will be provided to the members as soon as it is available.
