NACWA Discusses Sector Priorities and Challenges with Oregon Utilities

Aug 7, 2018

006_oregon-gardens(August 7, 2018) - NACWA delivered a national update on its regulatory, legislative, and legal advocacy efforts during the annual conference of the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies (ORACWA). NACWA’s presentation covered the latest legislative developments related to the federal budget, key funding programs, the Water Resources Development Act, Integrated Planning and Affordability legislation, and the 2018 Farm Bill. Key regulatory updates included EPA’s blending rulemaking, the Dental Amalgam rule, and affordability developments.

During the event, NACWA discussed litigation challenging the small municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permits for New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and the Association’s ongoing support of, and involvement with, member utilities in Oregon related to the upcoming Phase II MS4 stormwater permit

NACWA also hosted a roundtable breakfast to hear from clean water agencies from across the state.  The Association is grateful for the feedback provided by everyone who attended.  These types of meetings are essential in helping guide NACWA’s national advocacy.
