NACWA to Testify Before Senate Subcommittee

Jul 18, 2017

top
NACWA will be testifying July 20 before the Senate Fisheries, Water, and Wildlife Subcommittee to address the need for more federal clean water infrastructure funding.  The hearing, Innovative Financing and Funding: Addressing America’s Crumbling Water Infrastructure, will explore the challenges of maintaining existing infrastructure, while continuing to implement innovative technologies and meet Clean Water Act obligations.  NACWA will be represented at the hearing by Association Board Member Andrew Kricun, Executive Director/Chief Engineer of Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority. The hearing will be live-streamed, and available for viewing afterward, here.

While a federal infrastructure package remains under development with unclear timing, this hearing represents a positive step and demonstrates continued attention to improving our nation’s water infrastructure. NACWA continues to keep up the pressure on legislators to include funding for clean water in any infrastructure package and to advance smart reforms, and will keep members updated on developments. Contact NACWA’s Legislative Director, Kristina Surfus, with any questions.
