US Water Alliance Rolls Out One Water Report
(December 19, 2017) – The US Water Alliance recently released the Executive Summary of its One Water for America Policy Framework, capping a series of national “one water” listening sessions held across the country over the past few years and presenting a vision of how the United States can better view, value, and manage water. The document synthesizes input received during the listening sessions into seven big ideas for the sustainable management of water in the United States:
- Advance regional collaboration on water management
- Accelerate agriculture-utility partnerships to improve water quality
- Sustain adequate funding for responsible water infrastructure management
- Blend public and private expertise and investment to address water infrastructure needs
- Redefine affordability for the 21st century
- Reduce lead risks, and embrace the mission of protecting public health
- Accelerate technology adoption to build efficiency and improve water service
NACWA is pleased to serve as a Funding Partner as part of this important project and looks forward to continued engagement with the USWA and other stakeholders as additional elements of the report are released over the coming months. The USWA plans a series of webinars and policy briefs on each of the seven big ideas during the first part of 2018.
