WMass officials laud $151M infusion for water, wastewater upgrades but say it isn’t nearly enough

Federal officials announced that Massachusetts will see an infusion of $151 million for improvements in drinking water and wastewater systems, leaving municipalities grateful and disappointed at the same time.
The money, which comes from President Biden’s $50 billion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law from 2022, is mainly designed to help communities remove contaminants, such as lead and so-called “forever chemicals,” from drinking water and improve wastewater infrastructure to prevent raw sewage from overflowing into rivers, officials from the federal Environmental Protection Agency announced Tuesday.
