HHS Releases Updated LIHWAP Water Assistance Resource Website

Oct 26, 2022

The federal Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) recently announced the relaunch of the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) resource website, waterhelp.info. The updated website includes a search tool designed to help households in need of LIHWAP assistance find administering agencies in their area. The landing page and search tool can be translated into English, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Waterhelp.info also includes outreach materials and informational one pagers both for households and for drinking water and clean water service providers who are interested in learning more about LIHWAP.

NACWA has been a strong supporter of the LIHWAP program and encourages all utilities that have not yet taken advantage of this program to do so.  Use the waterhelp.info website to learn more, and you may also contact Danielle Cloutier or Kristina Surfus on the NACWA staff for additional information.
