NACWA Coordinates Advocacy Letter with Municipal and Environmental Advocates on Importance of Water Investment

Jun 15, 2022

This week, NACWA organized and submitted a letter to Congressional Committees, leadership, and every individual member office underscoring the broad support that exists for fully funding water programs. The letter comes on top of NACWA’s ongoing advocacy regarding Fiscal Year 2023 spending bills which are currently under development. The show of support, signed by dozens of national water, local government, environmental non-profits and water industry organizations, emphasizes how the water provisions of the final Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) were broadly supported on a bipartisan basis and called for robust annual spending on top of the already-appropriated $55 billion for water included in BIL. The letter identifies the authorized funding levels for FY23 which have not yet been appropriated and urges their full funding as the bills come together this summer.
