The North Shore Water Reclamation District (NSWRD) was recently recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) with three prestigious Peak Performance Awards. Each year, NACWA recognizes the commitment, innovation, and achievements of individuals and public agencies in the clean water community through their Award Programs. The Gurnee Water Reclamation Facility received a 2020 Gold Award; the Clavey Road Water Reclamation Facility in Highland Park and the Waukegan Water Reclamation Facility each received 2020 Silver Awards.

Igor Filipovich, newly appointed NSWRD Director of Operations, presented the awards at a special ceremony held at the District. In addition to acknowledging the consistent hard of work of the District's employees, Filipovich also recognized the contributions of his predecessor, Phil Connelly, who recently retired after 37 years at the District, serving six of those as Director of Operations.
