NACWA Tracking Coronavirus Developments, Future Conference & Meeting Plans Unchanged at this Time
(March 4, 2020) – NACWA has been reviewing the Association’s plans for continuity of operations and for future meetings and events in light of developments surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19).
All NACWA operations are proceeding as normal at this time, and there has been no change in plans for any of the Association’s upcoming events or conferences. NACWA is closely tracking information from national, state and local health officials around the county regarding the virus, but no domestic travel advisories or restrictions have been issued to date. NACWA will continue monitoring developments and announce any future changes to upcoming NACWA events if the situation warrants.
The Association has also heard from some utilities that they are reviewing their emergency response plans in light of the virus. NACWA’s Board of Directors will be discussing preparedness and response issues next week, and the Association will provide additional information and resources to the membership as they become available.
NACWA also encourages utilities to review the resources on COVID-19 recently published by the Water Environment Federation (WEF). The Water Professional’s Guide to COVID-19 is a technical resource that can help utilities learn about and plan for the coronavirus.
