The National Association of Clean Water Agencies recently presented Upper Trinity Regional Water District with top performance awards.
All of the regional water agency's sewer treatment plants were recognized for 100% compliance with state and federal regulations, three of them achieving such compliance for at least five years or more.
Receiving platinum awards were the Lakeview Plant in Lake Dallas, which has achieved perfect compliance for 20 years; the Peninsula Plant in Oak Point, at 15 years; and the Riverbend Plant in the Paloma Creek area, at 11 years.
The Doe Branch Plant, near the Savannah area, has maintained perfect compliance since it opened three years ago, earning it the gold award.
The awards were presented during a National Association of Clean Water Agencies conference in Minneapolis earlier this month.
