Association Talks Stormwater with Oregon Utilities

May 14, 2019

(May 14, 2019) – NACWA participated in the Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies’ (ORACWA’s) annual Stormwater Summit on May 8, providing an overview of national legislative, regulatory, and legal developments impacting municipal stormwater utilities.

During its presentation, NACWA discussed the impacts of the recently enacted integrated planning legislation on MS4 utilities, the status of various regulatory and legal issues involving Phase II permits in certain parts of the country, and the growing challenge for regulators and utilities alike in determining exactly what is “practicable” for inclusion in municipal stormwater permits under the Clean Water Act’s “maximum extent practicable” (MEP) standard.

NACWA very much appreciates the opportunity to participate in the conference and for the strong relationship with ORACWA.  The Association is always happy to participate in state and regional clean water events – if you are interested in having NACWA at your event, please contact Kelly Brocato, NACWA’s Senior Director of Membership.
