NACWA Participates in USWA Webinar on Infrastructure Funding
(February 13, 2018) – NACWA participated in a webinar hosted by the U.S. Water Alliance (USWA) on February 7, to discuss the national perspective on water infrastructure funding. Other speakers on the webinar provided local and state perspectives. NACWA discussed the importance of supporting and expanding existing federal infrastructure programs such as the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program. NACWA also highlighted a number of current legislative proposals that seek to build on these successful funding tools. Most importantly, NACWA emphasized that because a national dialogue on infrastructure is currently unfolding, and Congress is prepared to take up infrastructure legislation, now is the time that all water advocates must engage to elevate water infrastructure funding as a national priority.
The webinar was part of the USWA’s larger series addressing the “7 Big Ideas” published as part of the Alliance’s One Water National Listening Sessions. NACWA was a partner in the Listening Sessions, and is pleased to help support USWA’s important work.
