NACWA Seeking Input on Waters of the U.S. Definition
(October 17, 2017) - NACWA will host a conference call with its members on Wednesday, October 18, at 2:00 pm ET to discuss the Association’s position on the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rulemaking (those interested in participating should RSVP to Oliver Hamilton, NACWA Manager of Government Affairs).
EPA is currently gathering input from stakeholders to inform development of its new WOTUS rulemaking, and NACWA plans to provide written comments by the November 28 deadline. EPA is also hosting a series of teleconference meetings, and NACWA plans to participate in the November 14 call focused on water, wastewater and stormwater. Information on how to register for EPA’s teleconferences is available on EPA’s website.
While NACWA is developing comments on behalf of its members, the Association encourages its member agencies with specific or unique concerns related to WOTUS to prepare their own comments. Again, if you are interested in participating in the NACWA member call on October 18 to provide input to the Association on this issue, please RSVP to Oliver Hamilton.
