Congressional Members Request Doubling of State Revolving Funds
A bipartisan group of congressional representatives recently sent a letter to the House Interior & Environment Appropriations Subcommittee requesting a doubling of the State Revolving Funds (SRFs) in Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18), relative to FY16 enacted level. This request mirrors what NACWA and other groups in the water sector asked for as part of advocacy on Capitol Hill during Water Week last month.
A doubling would equal $2.8B in federal appropriations for the Clean Water SRF and $1.8B for the Drinking Water SRF, helping states address the infrastructure gaps in local communities and putting the nation on a path toward the tripling of the SRFs which President Trump proposed during his campaign. The letter was led by Reps. John Katko (R-NY) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and NACWA thanks them for their bipartisan leadership on this critical request! The letter was submitted to Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert (R-CA) and Ranking Member Betty McCollum (D-MN).
