NACWA Publishes Several Documents for Member Use and Advocacy – Including on PFAS and EJ
Over the last few weeks, NACWA has released a tranche of resources, white papers, and other documents designed to assist public clean water utilities in addressing key challenges and shaping their advocacy efforts and policy discussions on national issues facing the sector today.
The latest addition is a white paper, The Private Sector’s Role in Partnering with Water Utilities to Advance Environmental Justice. This paper provides an overview of environmental justice actions taken by four private sector firms as part of their work with water and wastewater utilities, and details strategies and methodologies consultants are developing to address barriers to equity and environmental justice in historically disinvested communities.
NACWA appreciates the work done by the Private Sector Leaders Alliance (PSLA) in developing the paper and presenting its findings to NACWA’s Environmental Justice Committee at the Utility Leadership Conference. In particular, NACWA would like to thank Andy Kricun with Moonshot Missions, Victoria Johnson with HDR, Lindsay Birt with Xylem, Walt Walker with Greeley and Hansen, and Andrew Nishihara with Stantec for their collaboration with NACWA on this paper.
In addition, there are documents relating to Utility Considerations for Integrated Planning, Infrastructure Funding Parity, Clean Water Technologies, and Maintaining Biosolids Management Options in a time of PFAS.
