NACWA Seeks Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Plans from Member Utilities
As part of the NACWA Statement of Principles and Recommended Actions on Environmental Justice, which was approved by the NACWA Board of the Directors last year, the Association is committed to expanding utility peer-to-peer learning and exchange opportunities around diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) efforts. NACWA members are at various points in developing and implementing DE&I plans, and some have expressed interest in seeing how other utilities are handling their initiatives.
To that end, NACWA asks for members to please share any DE&I resources they have with the broader membership via the NACWA Engage document library, or by emailing them to Toby Watkins, NACWA’s Manager of Government Affairs. Relevant resources can include copies of specific DE&I plans and related documents, strategic plans, training and educational material, workforce initiatives, etc.
Sharing these kinds of documents will help to elevate the entire public clean water sector’s efforts to address DE&I issues, and NACWA thanks members in advance for sharing resources.
