Progress Made on National Biosolids Survey; Additional Utility Responses Needed
NACWA is continuing its support and partnership with the Northeast Biosolids and Residuals Association (NEBRA) on the 2nd National Biosolids Regulation, Quality, End Use and Disposal Survey.
It has been almost 15 years since the first ever comprehensive national biosolids survey was conducted. Collecting more up-to-date, accurate data will be critical in helping inform biosolids advocacy strategies moving forward.
NACWA appreciates the public utilities that have so far participated and completed the Survey. While there is much work to be done collecting this critical data, NEBRA has received approximately 25% of their goal to receive 1,500 POTW survey submissions. For those curious to know more about utility response rates in your state or region, please see the updated Survey completion list.
The Survey will be open through July and possibly longer and can be completed using your 2018 EPA Part 503 Sludge Report and/or your 2018 report to your state – so having that information available and ready will help save time.
