Water Week is Next Week, EPA Administrator Regan to Provide Keynote Address!
We are excited to announce that Michael S. Regan, Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), will address the water sector for the first time during the Water Week Policy Zoom-In on Tuesday, April 27, 2:00-4:30 p.m. ET – and the timing could not be more critical. With conversations heating up on a national infrastructure plan, environmental justice, and emerging contaminants like PFAS, EPA Administrator Regan and his team will play a central role in addressing these and other priority issues facing the water sector.
While Water Week 2021 will take place in a virtual setting again this year, it is a time for water professionals from around the country to come together and highlight the vital work they do for their communities and advocate as one united voice for the water sector.
The Water Policy Zoom-In is this year's featured Water Week event and will provide attendees the opportunity to hear directly from key EPA officials and Members of Congress on the significant regulatory and legislative water policies they are working on now and in the years ahead. With an infrastructure package currently being negotiated, we need to make sure water is prioritized, and the best way to ensure this is for as many NACWA member utilities as possible to meet with their representatives and advocate for greater federal investment in water. The experiences from home states and districts, and the stories shared by utility leaders, resonate with Members of Congress and drive home the message on the invaluable work clean water agencies do and the need for a strong federal partner.
