Utilities Asked to Complete Cybersecurity Survey by April 28
Water sector associations, including NACWA, are asking all drinking water and wastewater utilities to complete a survey on cybersecurity by April 28.
With increased cyber-attacks on utilities, and the media attention given to these attacks, the information from the survey will help NACWA and the other associations to advocate effectively on behalf of our utility members. A memo from the Water Sector Coordinating Council, an advisory body consisting of representatives from the national water sector associations, provides additional information about the survey.
The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete, and it will not collect any identifying information. Since utilities will likely receive notice of this survey from multiple sources, please consult internally with colleagues before completing the survey. At the request of the associations, WaterISAC is hosting the survey, but every U.S. utility is asked to respond regardless of membership status in WaterISAC.
Please contact Cynthia Finley, NACWA’s Director of Regulatory Affairs, with any questions about the survey or any additional input regarding cybersecurity.
