EPA is seeking input and comment on a revised version of its
NPDES Compliance Inspection Manual, which is intended for use by EPA field personnel conducting inspections under the
Clean Water Act (CWA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. EPA released the
Manual as an interim revised version to allow time for inspectors to use it and provide feedback to the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA)
. It is also intended to inform OECA’s work in developing new software and hardware for NPDES inspectors to use in the field. The
Manual, which is 930 pages long with all its appendices, was posted in January, and EPA is accepting feedback until December 31. NACWA is evaluating whether to provide comments. If members have any feedback or comments, please send them to Chris Hornback at
chornback@nacwa.org.
