Kamuron Gurol

King County Wastewater Treatment Division

Kamuron Gurol has served as the Director of the Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) in the Department of Natural Resources and Parks since April 2021. He manages WTD’s 800+ employees in five sections, an operating budget of approximately $200+ million, and an annual capital budget of $350 million.
Prior to WTD, he served as the North Corridor Director for Sound Transit, and oversaw a portfolio of light rail transit expansion, new bus rapid transit service and enhanced commuter rail projects – with projects up to $4 billion.
Before then, he was the city manager for Burien, director of community development at Sammamish, corridor planning director at WSDOT, and director of Community Development at Kitsap County. He also managed long range planning at Snohomish County and held senior planning roles for King County.
Kamuron has an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School and a BS in Geological Sciences from the University of Washington.
