Brian Valentino currently serves as CEO and Executive Director of the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority (WMUA). He has led clean water, stormwater, wastewater, and electric utility operations across multiple jurisdictions, and has been a driving force behind award-winning initiatives in sustainability, workforce development, and public policy.
Mr. Valentino is the founder and Academy Director of the Environmental Professional Development Academy (EPDA), an acclaimed leadership pipeline program that has graduated over 150 clean water professionals nationwide. Under his leadership, EPDA has earned the National Environmental Achievement Award, the OneWater Award, and contributed to WMUA’s designation as a Water Resources Utility of the Future Today.
At the state level, he serves as Treasurer and Vice President-designate of the Association of Environmental Authorities (AEA), where he oversees the association’s budget, governance, strategic planning, conferences, membership growth, and legislative strategy. He has also been nominated to the New Jersey State Clean Water Council, cementing his influence on statewide water policy.
He has served on the Global Policy Committee of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and actively contributes to legislative and regulatory discourse across state and national platforms.
Mr. Valentino champions a culture-driven approach to visionary utility management rooted in innovation, service, equity, and future-focused leadership.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Marymount University and a Master of Public Administration degree from American University.
