(October 3, 2017) -- The EPA’s Water Finance Center, in partnership with the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS), recently published and released the guide, Water Infrastructure Financial Leadership: Successful Financial Tools for Local Decision Makers. The document thoroughly outlines three overarching steps for community leaders in the planning or implementation stage of investing in water infrastructure.

While it is useful for anyone considering major water infrastructure upgrades, the guide was created to assist economically challenged communities, where many of these water quality issues are most acute. In addition to important financing information, the document features NACWA members’ experiences with water infrastructure financing such as DC Water’s innovative Environmental Impact Bonds.
