(Washington, D.C.) – The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) congratulates Radhika Fox on her appointment as Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator to EPA’s Office of Water.  She brings significant experience with, and passion for, water issues to the position at a time when there are many water-related challenges facing the nation.

Her past work on water issues includes serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the US Water Alliance – which NACWA formed in 2007 and whose influence and reach has grown under Radhika’s leadership. Radhika’s public service also includes work as a policy analyst with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), giving her a significant understanding of the challenges of regulated, public water/wastewater treatment agencies.

“I have had the privilege of working with Radhika in her capacity as CEO of the US Water Alliance, and I know first-hand her commitment to water issues,” says Terry Leeds, NACWA President and Director of KC Water in Kansas City, Missouri.  “She has a proven track record of bringing together diverse stakeholders and voices from across the spectrum to address the most pressing water challenges facing our nation, especially around issues of water access, water equity, and environmental justice. She is well-prepared to help lead in this moment.”

“Having previously worked for a clean water agency and the Alliance, Radhika is uniquely positioned to understand the challenges facing water utilities right now,” says Adam Krantz, CEO of NACWA. “Clean water utilities and their essential employees have spent the past 10 months working on the front lines of the COVID-19 fight to serve their communities.  But the pandemic has also underscored the significant economic and affordability challenges facing local communities, the importance of sound policies to provide water access for all, and the clear need for greater investment in clean water from all levels of government but particularly the federal government.  Radhika will arrive at EPA on day one with an understanding of all these challenges and with a solutions-oriented approach that will inspire action to address these many challenges.”

NACWA and its more than 325 public clean water utility members look forward to building on our strong partnership with EPA in addressing clean water issues and to the many more successes we will achieve together.
