(May 13, 2020) – As clean water utilities continue providing their essential services during the fight against COVID-19, many are facing unprecedented legal and regulatory challenges. NACWA will be hosting a webinar next week designed to provide municipal managers and attorneys with key information as they navigate permitting and enforcement issues arising from the pandemic.

A panel of clean water experts will discuss critical topics such as recent federal enforcement guidance issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice, the impact of force majeure clauses in consent decrees and settlement agreements, and the potential for consent decree modification and citizen lawsuits.

Featured speakers on the panel will include:

  • Amanda Waters, Attorney, AquaLaw PLC, (Richmond, VA)
  • Fredric Andes, Partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP (Chicago, IL)
  • Tom Boer, Partner, Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP (San Francisco, CA)
  • Drew Silton, Principal, Beveridge & Diamond PC (Washington, DC)

The complimentary webinar, Legal & Regulatory Considerations for Clean Water Utilities During COVID-19, will be held May 20 from 2:00-3:30 PM ET.
