NACWA Active at Water Finance Conference
(August 28, 2019) – NACWA was active at the Water Finance Conference in Washington, DC last week, serving as the lead sponsor of the event and speaking on a number of topics including affordability and low-income ratepayer water assistance programs.
Chris Hornback, NACWA’s Deputy CEO, provided opening remarks at the conference and also moderated a panel discussion on how to best define affordability within the water sector. Nathan Gardner-Andrews, NACWA’s Chief Advocacy Officer, presented on how a federal low-income water assistance program might be structured. NACWA member utilities including AlexRenew, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, and the Philadelphia Water Department also participated in the event.
